Certamen - Dispatch 20

Happy New Year everyone! Welcome to 2023! I couldn't be more excited to share two very big project announcements with you today, so let us begin!
For starters, I have spent the last several weeks of break working really hard on the card game that I made a video about in December which, though it began as a simple distraction from school-related stress, has ballooned, like all good projects tend to to, into something much bigger and more exciting. Today I am officially announcing Certamen, a complete, real game on which I've spent dozens of hours drawing, painting, scanning, photoshopping, type-setting, printing, cutting, bug-fixing, tweaking, re-printing, and packaging! Today I uploaded a new video showcasing the game, featuring several of my lovely friends who are learning how to play. This first release of cards is simply called 'series 1' and it contains 27 unique cards, each with custom art and abilities. I'm so, so happy with how this project has turned out and I cannot wait to work on more card sets in the future.
Which brings me to arguably the most exciting announcement I have for you today, packs of Certamen cards, along with several other project-related products, are available for purchase for a limited time starting today! I've opened an online marketplace where you can buy things like artwork prints, notecards featuring film photos I took last summer, and of course, Certamen card packs! It's been a lot of fun setting this marketplace up, but also a lot of work which I won't be able to keep up with full time. Because of this the store will only be open through the end of January, as an experiment of sorts. So if you're interested in anything there, please check it out as soon as you can before it's gone!
In addition to being an enormous help to me in supporting everything I do here, the money made during this "Market Month" will also support other entrepreneurs and small businesses, as I'm donating 30% of the profits to Kiva, an organization dedicated to helping people in developing countries support themselves financially.
